About

Rowena Jane is an illustrator and surface pattern designer based in suburban Surrey, UK. Dwelling in a green belt with close proximity to the urban, Rowena is both inspired by nature and an appreciation for the commercial found in town, from fashion to packaging, and fruit bought at the market.

A lover of botanical illustration and wildlife, Rowena is passionate about drawing flora and fauna with a focus on those innate to Britain. Imagining the concepts and stories behind each design collection brings just as much joy as their creation.

Rowena uses traditional illustration techniques and mixed media ranging from inks, to pastels, water colours, acrylics, fine liners and colouring pencils. There is naivety in vibrancy and style coupled with detail; deriving happiness from the simplicity of hand drawn observations.

Creating gift cards from illustrations, drawings are often based on her own photography. Which Rowena has also made a jewellery range from; printing pictures onto sustainably sourced wood, then laser cut out to make charms.
